Multichrome Eyeshadow Can Still Be “Wearable”

Multichrome Eyeshadow Can Still Be “Wearable”

As much as I love multichrome eyeshadows, the deeper jewel tones tend to give me pause when figuring out a makeup look. As someone who doesn’t do more glam or night time looks, only because I don’t go to events that call for that, I then struggle to figure out how to incorporate these types of shades in an eye look. Because clearly that’s not going to stop me from buying these beautiful multichromes.

I have tons of multichrome eyeshadows, most of which come from indie brands such as Clionadh, Lethal Cosmetics, and Oden’s Eye. Some of the lighter shades can easily be used as inner eye corner highlights or all over the lid as a topper. However, for me, darker shades can be tricky to use in everyday looks. Not that you can’t use dark colors or do full on glam in the middle of the day, but personally that’s just not my style of makeup. But I still want to wear these colors in a more subtle or toned-down makeup look.

How to make Multichrome Eyeshadows Wearable

One way I’ve found that worked for me is to sheer out the more saturated shades on the lid. I focus the color on the outer lid to add depth but not too much where it becomes a smokey eye. Another way is to use the shadow as an eyeliner or a simple wing. You can keep most of the lid a light or neutral shade and add the dark color as a liner or wing it out. As a variation of this, I use the darker color as my pop of color in a makeup look while keeping the rest of the eye a neutral or all glitter shade.

For this look I chose two multichrome shades from Clionadh. Wall of Ivy actually has a brown base with a lime flip so I sheered this out on the outer part of my lids, then added Sunbeam all over the inner and middle eye. I bought a couple of Rare Beauty liquid blushes during the last Sephora sale so I’ve been using them a lot in my daily makeup. This Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia sample perfume I also received with my Sephora order. And if you like light juicy balms, rom&nd has a new line of Glasting Melting Balms. I’ve used the shade Peonies. I am also currently waiting for my order of the Deep Sea Treasures Palette from Clionadh to ship.
