rom&nd x Sanrio Whatever Girls Better Than Palette Eyeshadow Swatches and Review
rom&nd’s collaboration with the Sanrio characters My Melody and Kuromi include new Better Than Palette eyeshadow palettes, Dewyful Water Tints, and Moody Pebble Nails. The collection also includes special Kuromi packaging of the Glasting Water Gloss and the Tone Up Sun Cushion. This adorable collection is perfect for the Sanrio lover, or anyone who likes that cute girl aesthetic. I purchased the collection from the Olive Young global website but it seems to have sold out fairly quickly. It does seem to still be available at Beauty Box Korea for international shipping. In this post I will show you swatches from the two new Better Than Palette eyeshadow palettes My Cheery Garden and Cheeky Cheeky Garden.
rom&nd x Sanrio Whatever Girls Better Than Palette My Cheery Garden Swatches and Review
rom&nd My Cheery Garden eyeshadow palette from the Sanrio Whatever Girls collection has My Melody packaging and is themed around the color pink. There are six mattes, two glitters, one matte with glitter, and one shimmer shade. This neutral and pink palette has My Melody and some cute cherry embossing on the eyeshadow pans.
Morning Dew is a fine white glitter with a clear base and a slight pink shift. I would consider it a topper eyeshadow shade to complement the other shades in the palette.
Milky Bud is a light pastel pink matte with a milky base. I had a hard time getting this shade to show up on my skin tone and I would consider myself to be on the lighter side for skin tones. This eyeshadow would be a blending shade to use when transitioning between other pink shades.
Cheery Fairy is a light pink matte shade with a slight peach tone. This eyeshadow pan has a cherry embossed on top.
Peach Bubble is a mid tone pink matte with silver glitter. If you don’t like glitters in your eyeshadow you could probably swipe most of it off when applying this shade to just leave the pink matte. But I tend to like the extra sparkle glitters give off.
Hazy Rose is a muted rose matte eyeshadow. This shade is a good choice to transition or mix with the more nude and brown shades in this palette.
Lovey Charm is a cool beige shimmer. This shade is probably best for an inner corner highlight or for creating the aegyo-sal look under the eyes. For an aegyo-sal look, you can add a neutral shimmer similar to your skin tone right in the middle of the lower eyeline, without going too far underneath the eye. Add a small contour underneath your eye bag to mimic and emphasize under eye fat. This creates the illusion of baby fat and the look of youthfulness in the face.
Cheery Pop is a light pink glitter shade with gold and pink fine glitters in the eyeshadow formula.
Cozy Beige is a light cool tone brown matte that leans slightly pink. It’s a good base eyeshadow to build other shades on top of.
Ruddy Shade is a mid tone nude brown matte with a slightly pink base. It is the slightly darker version of the Cozy Beige shade. “Cheery Girl” is embossed onto the top of this eyeshadow pan.
Choco Ground is a dark brown matte with a grey base. This shade has an ashy quality to it that is ideal for creating smokey eye looks and contouring the outer eye.
rom&nd x Sanrio Whatever Girls Better Than Palette Cheeky Cheeky Garden Swatches and Review
The rom&nd Cheeky Cheeky Garden eyeshadow palette from the Sanrio Whatever Girls collection is themed around Kuromi with pink, purple, and neutral shades. Kuromi and a skull are embossed on two of the shades, representing Kuormi’s rebellious attitude.
Blurry Pink is a pastel pink matte shade that leans lavender with a milky base. A very pretty spring type of shade, but might be hard to use on darker skin tones.
Pink Downy is light pink matte shade. One of the only shades in the palette that is truly only pink, as the other shades lean towards purple tones or are neutrals.
Spoon of Cheeky is a light cool tone purple matte that has some grey in the base. This eyeshadow shade has a skull embossed in the pan.
Dubby Taro is a cool mid tone purple matte. This purple shade is very pretty and a bit unique in k-beauty products. You don’t see many colorful eyeshadows that will go as deep as this purple in Korean makeup brands.
Kitsch the Black is a matte black eyeshadow. You won’t get a true deep black but it’s dark enough for smoking out the outer eye or creating a smokey eyeliner. Kitsch the Black has Kuromi embossed on top of the eyeshadow pan.
Full of Charming is a light beige shimmer eyeshadow. Full of Charming is a more subtle beige shimmer almost satin texture in comparison to Lovey Charm from the My Cheery Garden eyeshadow palette.
Cheeky Cheeky Pop is a multi glitter shade with silver, purple, and pink glitter. It has bigger glitter pieces than Cheery Pop from the My Cheery Garden eyeshadow palette.
Fade the Mood is a nude brown matte eyeshadow with a slight lavender base.
Cheat the Shade is a mid tone brown nude matte eyeshadow. It is slightly darker than Fade the Mood.
Dusty End is a dark cool tone brown matte eyeshadow. The cool tone of this brown blends well with the other eyeshadows with purple undertones.

Videos on Youtube of all the swatches for both My Cheery Garden and Cheeky Cheeky Garden can be found below. Some of these shades might be hard to work with for darker skin tones, but formula wise they are of good quality as other rom&nd eyeshadow palettes. You just have to be a fan of pinks and purples as these palettes are predominately focused on those colors. The swatches of the Dewyful Water Tints and Gloss Water Gloss from this Whatever Girls Collection are located in a previous post.
