An Affordable Makeup Palette with Pretty Packaging
Kara Beauty: Affordable Products with Beautiful Packaging
I’m such a sucker for pretty product packaging. Korean or Asian makeup brands are probably the best for this on the market now, but their palettes tend to be the same version of neutral, pink, and coral. If you are looking for pretty packaging but a more interesting palette story, I would suggest Kara Beauty and Colourpop. Both brands come out with collections throughout the year with artistic aesthetics while still being affordable.
Kara Beauty 60’s Era Palette Makeup Tutorial
For this makeup look I used the 60’s Era Palette from Kara Beauty. The brand recently came out with a trio of palettes with color stories that reflect trending shades from each decade in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. The artwork of the palettes wouldn’t look out of place as a showpiece on a shelf or mantel. The formula is standard for the makeup market, on par with drugstore formulas and pricing. But I don’t necessarily look for a formula that needs to last the longest, as long as there is color payoff and is blendable.
I wanted a coral pink blush to pair with the pastel colors I chose for my eye makeup. Unfortunately this blush palette from BH Cosmetics seems to be discontinued, but the Bellini Blush Palette is a good pick for different shades of coral pink. Bare Apricot is one of the new shades of the Juicy Lasting Tint for spring by rom&nd. It also has the similar tones of coral pink to tie in with the makeup. And I chose Sun Fruit by Ellis Brooklyn that I bought during the Sephora spring sale as my perfume. I thought it would fit well with it’s warm yet fruity fragrance.
