Alternative stereo is a relatively new Korean beauty and lifestyle brand, focusing on a lo-fi and vintage aesthetic. Their makeup products have unique and eye-catching packaging, which quickly became viral on social media. The Alternative stereo Lip Potion Aqua Glow is a light-weight and non-sticky lip tint with a glossy finish. Key ingredients include green tea seed oil, vitamin E, and daffodil bulb extract, which makes the lips look healthy while moisturizing. You can purchase them at Olive Young Global for retail $25.00.

I saw this brand pop up on the Olive Young website a few months back and was immediately drawn to the cute bottles of their Aqua Glows. I can see why the name Lip Potion was chosen because they look like old potion bottles. The outside box packaging has a vintage feel, and there's a unique way to get them open. Pull the tab on the side of the box, and it opens to reveal an art illustration inside.

These have a slight lip tint with the feel of a slick lip oil. They were hydrating on the lips but they do eventually fully dry down to a matte finish. You will have to reapply if you want that glossy lip appearance. These definitely had a more watery quality to them in comparison to my rom&nd Juicty Lasting Tints. The Aqua Glows have lighter coverage, more transparent, and more natural hue. It does retain a gloss and moisture to them, resulting in a formulation that resembles a lip oil. These lip products will become a staple in my everyday makeup, along with my Merit Slick Gelee lip oils.

The Alternative stereo Lip Potion Aqua Glow Candylicious collection is 3 new shades inspired by the colors of vintage candy. These bottles are opaque all around compared to the previous collection that had frosted bottles. The inside of the box includes an illustration of a candy castle. It kind of reminds me of Princess Bubblegum’s castle from Adventure Time, which is super cute.
