Makeup and Skincare Haul June 2023

See this content in the original post

Welcome to my monthly makeup and skincare haul series. Every month I will be journaling what products I bought in the past month, including makeup, skincare, and bath or body products. I will go through why I decided to buy these products in case you were just as curious about them. Please comment down below if you would like to see swatches or more in depth reviews. I will start showcasing the makeup in my get ready with me posts as I try out my new purchases.

June 2023 Featured Beauty Products:

about-face Matte Fluid Eye Paints

So this is usually how my makeup collection grows exponentially. I tried a few about-face Matte Fluid Paints already but kept it to darker colors that I could use as eyeliners. Then about-face had a Memorial Day sale and I apparently decided to just buy all the colorful shades. I do find these liquid eyeshadows to be really useful in creating different types of makeup. You aren’t limited to just using them as blended out eyeshadows. Here are some ideas on how to use any liquid eyeshadows, not just limited to this brand.

Ways To Use Liquid Eyeshadows

  • Add a dollop of the eyeshadow and blend it all over the eyelid. You can add a little for a light watercolor effect, or add more to build up full pigmentation.

  • Apply as eyeliner. You can use a small straight liner brush, pick up a tiny amount of liquid eyeshadow, and apply as normal eyeliner. I use this method if I want a bolder eyeliner to stand out on my eye makeup, whether it’s a brown or black, or a colored eyeliner shade.

  • Use different shaped brushes to apply graphic liner details. If you are interested in experimenting in the graphic eye makeup trend, liquid eyeshadows would be a good choice as they provide high opacity. They are easy to apply with the right makeup brush and creates clean lines. Just remember to work quickly as the liquid eyeshadow will dry down within 30 seconds.

  • As a clean graphic wing. Create the classic wing makeup but instead of a smokey eye, apply as a thick wing on the outer eye with clean lines. Using a colorful shade will create a bold statement for your makeup look.

Colourpop Heavy Petal, Pretty Please, Lav_ish palette, Lav Dreams and Spirit Wilds Super Shock Highlighter, Fair Enough Super Shock Blush, Angelic and Social BB Super Shock Shadow

Here is my Colourpop haul I bought during the Memorial Day sale. I’ve been interested in the three eyeshadow palettes for a while, but I generally wait for a sale as Colourpop frequently has them. I tend to gravitate for those purple shades in palettes and the overall color stories in each palette are good for those everyday makeup days.

Colourpop Lav Dreams Super Shock Highlighter

Colourpop Spirit Wilds Super Shock Highlighter

Colourpop Spirit Wilds Super Shock Highlighter

I try to collect all the Super Shock Highlighters, especially the ones that are from a limited collaboration collection. I just like the formula and while some of the highlighters can be too glittery, I use them as eyeshadow toppers instead. Also the packaging for each collection is so pretty and unique.

I created this cute pink toned everyday makeup tutorial if you need more ideas on eye looks.

Colourpop Fair Enough Super Shock Blush

I also try to collect the Super Shock Shadows and Super Shock Blushes. If you would like to see a swatch of any Colourpop products, please comment down below and I can make a dedicated blog post for them.

Oden's Eye Stone & Rock, Jewels & Gems

Oden’s Eyes palette stories are always so unique and inspiring. And I love how the shimmer and metallic shades compliment well with the matte shades so you can easily create some interesting makeup looks.

Oden's Eye Stone & Rock

Oden's Eye Jewels & Gems

I used this palette to create a romantic and dreamy rose eyeshadow makeup look.

Oden’s Eye Freja Rune Dry Brush-Cleaning Box

I added this eyeshadow brush cleaner tin to my Oden’s Eye order mostly for the free shipping. But the tin is very cute. The sponge texture inside helps clean off any powders from makeup brushes, just swipe your brush over the sponge in between switching powders. So you can cut down on having to wash your makeup brushes as much. You can find these on Amazon as well. Plus you can find replacement sponges on Amazon. I will add a link below. *I earn a commission for purchases made from the link below* They are sometimes called eye swtiches.

Flower Knows Mermaid and Strawberry Rococo Collection

Flower Knows Mini Review

Flower Knows is a Chinese brand that has blown up on Tik Tok and Instagram for it’s beautiful makeup packaging. I do believe that in the next couple of years, Chinese brands will become popular just as Korean beauty brands have become in western countries. Most importantly the quality of the makeup is just as good as Korean brands and reasonably priced. I bought these palettes from their mermaid and strawberry rococo collection on their official website flowerknows.co for shipping to the United States. Most of their collections will have eyeshadow palettes in various color stories, powder blushes, lip stains, mirrors, and sometimes perfumes. You can buy the whole collection and the PR box as well. They also seem to have sales frequently so don’t feel the need to buy the new makeup releases right away.

Flower Knows Mermaids Dream

Flower Knows Ocean Siren

Flower Knows Moonlight Land

I have previously posted a siren eye makeup tutorial featuring this FlowerKnows palette. The glitter shades in all of these palettes are so beautiful. I like to add glitter or shimmer on every eye makeup look I do for personal preference. I just like that little bit of sparkle and I find it helps with creating nice makeup looks on my hooded eyes.

Flower Knows Creamy Macarons

Flower Knows Creamy Macarons eyeshadow palette swatches can be found here.

Flower Knows Champs Misty Rose

I used this palette to create a delicate and cute pink eyeshadow look. I have a post with Flower Knows Champs Misty Rose swatches here.

about-face Matte Fluid Eye Paints

Here is another set of about-face Matte Fluid Eye Paints that I had actually ordered a while ago in May from Ulta that never arrived. I had to contact Ulta that my first package was lost, but they did send me another order that finally arrived. I also have a makeup tutorial showing how I used a Matte Fluid Eye Paint as a pop of color.

Giorgia Armani Acqua di Gioia, Ralph Lauren Romance

I ended up making another Ulta order since they were having a fragrance promotion. I received a Ralph Lauren beige duffle bag as a free gift with the Ralph Lauren Romance perfume. The mini Acqua di Gioia perfume came with any Giorgio Armani fragrance purchase, so now I have a travel size version. There was also a special surprise gift you would receive for purchasing any fragrance items over a certain amount, which turned out to be another Ralph Lauren navy duffle bag, a mini Philosophy lotion, and a mini Burberry Hero cologne.

Glossier Cloud Paint Gel Cream Blush Wisp and Soar

Glossier Balm Dotcom Wild Fig

Glossier finally released new cream blush Cloud Paints so I had to get them for my collection. I already have all the other colors and I wanted to compare them all together. You can find my post of swatch comparisons of all Glossier Cloud Paints. I also got the new Wild Fig Balm Dotcom mostly for the free shipping. But I do like that there’s an actual applicator. I have some mini Balm Dotcoms that just squeeze straight out of the tube and you had to apply with your finger. Applying from the tube can be a bit painful on the lips. For the Glossier Wild Fig swatch I did a separate post.

If you are interested, I have more makeup and skincare hauls.
